Summary


There are two ways to update product properties:


  1. Manual Update
  2. Bulk Update Process


Conditions:

  1. Manual Updating a Product need the roles of:
  2. Part Editor
  3. Product Editor
  4. Product Activator (To manually deactivate/reactivate a Product)
  5. Bulk Update Process Products need the roles of:
  6. Bulk Update




The following Product fields are editable and can be updated either though Manual or Bulk Process.

Steps to take


Manual Update

  1. Navigate to the side menu and click Inventory --> Products.
  2. Select and open the Product to Update
  3. Manually select the Product by clicking the Item Code
  4. Use the the Search Bar to look for a specific Product and click the Item Code.
  5. Click the Edit button in the top bar menu.
  6. Confirm update Product by clicking OK
  7. If a Product is used in any active Work Orders, a Notification error will appear and Product won't be updated.
  8. Product is updated successfully if it is NOT used in any active Work Orders.




Bulk Update Process

To update specific product information in Open Vision, follow these steps:


  1. Open Vision and go to Inventory > Products.
  2. Click on Bulk Processing and select Export Products to download the file.
  3. Save the file on your computer.
  4. Open the file using a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel.
  5. Look for the column that contains the information you want to update.
  6. Make the necessary changes to the information in that column.
  7. Save the updated file.
  8. Return to the Bulk Processing option and select Upload Products.
  9. Upload the updated file and follow the prompts to complete the import process.




Note: In Recipient tab of the Upload file, add the names and email of recipients who should receive notification of Bulk Upload results once processing is completed.
